I worked with Wim when he was CFO and deputy MD of Offshore Solutions. This was a very challenging time as we worked to introduce new technology and perspective to the offshore access (primarily helicopter transfer) market. Wim was key in the introduction of innovation, and as deputy MD, was very involved in developing and executing the strategy from the first board-level conversations through to implementation. I was fortunate to benefit from Wim's support in many areas and in addition to his finance and general management expertise, I found him to be a great team player. He also combined the ability to be as hands-on as the situation required, with a capability to see the bigger picture. He successfully stepped into the operations manager's role on a temporary basis in addition to his other roles and demonstrated the mix of skills necessary to lead and manage a multi-national offshore team.
